Customer testimonial on video

The most convincing video a company can produce: a client who looks like your prospects, explaining why they chose you and what changed. You can be suspicious of a sales pitch. It is harder to be suspicious of a peer.

What we produce

  • The filmed testimonial: one to two minutes, shot at your client's offices or yours, somewhere familiar to them. The format that lives on your website, in your sales proposals and in meetings.
  • Short cuts: vertical extracts for social media, subtitled, with graphics in your colours.
  • Written quotes: taken from the real transcript of the interview, to place anywhere the eye lands. One shoot, three uses.

How it goes for your client

That is the question that matters, because they are the one doing you a favour. A phone conversation beforehand, with no camera, to identify their story and settle their worries: no lines to learn, open questions about their project, and approval of the edit before anything goes out. Not negotiable, and saying so from the start removes half the reluctance.

On the day: a light setup, twenty to thirty minutes of filmed conversation, of which one to two minutes are kept. The only real burden on your client is one hour of their time.

And as with everything else: first cut in your hands within three working days of the shoot.

What makes a testimonial convincing

Not the praise: the story. The problem before, the hesitation, the turning point, the result. “They are very professional” convinces nobody; “we were looking for someone who would understand our world without us having to explain all of it” tells you something. Our job: asking the questions that bring that story out, and staying out of the way so it comes naturally.

Choosing the client matters as much as the shoot: the right witness is not your biggest client, it is the one your prospects will recognise themselves in. We discuss it during framing, and the whole method is set out in the article on customer testimonials.

Is this the right moment?

A testimonial is there to reassure someone who is hesitating: it speaks to prospects already thinking about it, not to people who do not know you yet.

The only real condition is a happy and willing client. If you are not there yet, a brand video establishes what you do first, and the testimonial will complete it.

To choose the right client and prepare the interview: how to get a customer testimonial video right.

Frequently asked questions

My client is not comfortable on camera. Is that a blocker?

Nobody is. Little visible equipment, a conversation rather than an interview, and the first few minutes exist to make the camera disappear. If they are still reluctant: a written quote first, video with a client who is more at ease.

What do I need to prepare on my side?

Identifying the right client and asking them for an hour. The rest, preparation, questions, logistics, image rights, is our job.

Where should the testimonial be published?

Where your prospects hesitate: your offer page, your sales proposals, a follow-up email, and as short cuts on social media. A good testimonial works for years.

Got a happy client in mind?

Thirty minutes to identify the right witness and the right angle together, and you leave with a running order ready to propose to them.
